Two methods are considered for assessing students' final grades, implemented on the base of expert conclusions regarding the degree of importance of the evaluation characteristics and on the basis of a fuzzy inference based on the verbal model. An arbitrary example of an academic group of students and a comparative analysis of the results obtained with the application of these methods is conducted
