NOISE TECHNOLOGY FOR CORRECTING THE ERROR CAUSED BY THE NORMALIZATION OF CORRELATION FUNCTIONS


It is demonstrated that in solving the problems of monitoring, control, diagnostics, identification, management etc., the use of the conventional technology for normalizing the estimates of auto- and cross-correlation functions causes additional errors that have a significant effect on the accuracy of the results. We analyze the sources of errors of correlation functions of noisy continuous random signals both in the presence of a correlation between the noise and the useful signal and in the absence of such. Algorithms and technologies are proposed for correcting the errors caused by noises in the process of normalizing the estimates of auto- and cross-correlation functions.
